Happy St. Patrick's Day--a day late.
Welcome a new Carpenter into the world. Michael Patrick Carpenter was born yesterday to Jonathan and Jenean Carpenter, grandson to William Hugh and Patricia Carpenter. (Geo. II and John lines)
Some of you have already sent in your Registration and Activity sign-up forms. Don't forget to let us know which one (or more) of George Zimmerman Carpenter's children is your ancestor so that we can have that on your nametag. The deadline for registration is May 1, 2006. Currently, we have received ten registrations.
Please go ahead and make your reservations for accommodations early. The deadline for the special rate at Hampton Inn is May 15. Over 100 Carpenter Cousins and families participated in the 2001 Reunion and we have many more names and addresses in the data base for the 2006 Reunion.
If any of you are aware of Carpenter cousins who have not received a reunion notice, please let us know right away. If anyone has an email address that has been changed or added, please let us know. Email instead of snail mail saves a lot of money. The following snail mail notices have been returned as of today. I talked with Allan Leach last evening and he is busy contacting the property owners of the sites on the tour route to let them know of our coming visit--and to get permission for us to come! He is working on maps for each of us to have prior to the tours so that we can, hopefully, follow along on the map as we tour. We are also working on a speaker system in hopes that we can better hear what Allan has to say. Another opportunity to visit with Allan is on Friday evening. After dinner, Allan is going to talk about the various places we will be going on the Tours.
Has everyone had a chance to check out the Family tree data on the GEDCOM files on the web page? We hope that each of you will take the time to review your own family line and let us know if you have any additions or corrections. If you have any source data, we can get that information on the web page as well--to share with all of your cousins.
