Photos of Powell Cemetery in Kentucky
Hello all,
Sandy Kassen sent along some new photographs of the Powell Cemetery near Hustonville, KY. I will post those to a new photo gallery online here:
Powell Cemetery photos by Ronnie Bates - powered by SmugMug
I also thought I would also share her message with you since it hints at some of the origins of these photos. Hopefully some additional information will come along as well. If so, then I will post it here.

Hi Joe,
Good to hear from you.
These Powell Cemetery photos have been taken by Ronnie Bates, of Lincoln Co.. He's trying to photograph all Lincoln Co. cemeteries. Technically, this is in Casey, on old Carpenter Station land, but originally this was part of Lincoln.
I've been in touch with Joe Clarkson Carpenter and Mary Ann Hormuth, and Mary Ann is from that line and can best fill you in.
Ronnie sent me the coordinates and directions to the cemetery, as well. He said the cemetery is really in need of TLC, but that the current owners have fenced the area in, in order to keep livestock out of it. Maybe some of the Powells can get together, with toothbrushes and stone cleaning tools, clean it up a bit, and retake photos now that the location has been identified!
Hope all goes well...
