Hi Everyone,

Three weeks have passed since we have been in Kentucky for the 2006 Carpenter-Zimmerman Reunion. I have finally managed to get thank you notes written to many of those wonderful citizens of Hustonville and Lincoln County who contributed so much to the success of our 2006 Carpenter-Zimmerman reunion--and I am about to get all of our bills paid.

I cannot wait to see the group photograph. It should be arriving in your mail any time now. If you would like to have an extra photograph as a gift for someone who did not make it to the reunion, let me know.

If any one would like to have an extra water bottle or two with Carpenter Reunion 2006 printed on it, let Joe know and he will mail it (them) to you.

While it is on your minds, we are wondering if any of you have any suggestions or recommendations for the next Reunion.

Just in case, anyone is interested, Joe and I have worked together as Reunion Planners for the past two reunions. For each event, we have started more than a year ahead of time--brainstorming for the most part, then getting to work. Having the website has been immensely helpful and has saved so many hours and lots of money paying for snailmail. Please continue to keep Joe up to date with any address or email changes for yourself or others in the family.

For the 2006 Reunion, we looked at the experiences of 2001 and decided we might enjoy tours that were less crowded--so we planned for two tours. With the help of Allan Leach, we provided better and more detailed maps of the tours. We found hotel accommodations with better mattresses. We tried to provide for more opportunities for sharing stories and experiences and just getting to know one another. We worked hard to keep costs at a reasonable level.

Joseph has said he will make CDs if you will get your photographs to him. Do you think it might be a nice keepsake to have a CD with lots and lots of Reunion photographs? You need to get in touch with him if you want to make this happen.

What was your favorite part? Did you meet some new cousins? Did you find a family resemblance in cousins you may have met for the first time? Did you notice personality similarities? Mannerisms? What would you have changed about the Reunion? Your input will be so helpful to the next Reunion Planners. Maybe you will want to volunteer for that job.

Do stay in touch. Send any family news to the website--new babies, weddings, funerals, graduations.

See you next time.
